Dangerous PFAS chemicals never break down or go away. These toxic “forever chemicals” leach into our food, water, ecosystems and bodies, posing serious human health risks.
The EPA has failed to address all forms of PFAS, leaving thousands of the toxic chemicals excluded from testing and potential regulation. This keeps us exposed to toxic PFAS with no plan to protect communities drinking water or assess the many associated risks.
The PFAS Definition Improvement Act (H.R. 5987) would ensure that the EPA uses a broad, widely accepted definition of PFAS. It’s time for Congress to address the huge public health problem impacting the drinking water of communities across the country.
