The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced a roadmap to set enforceable limits on two per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in our drinking water, and help hold polluters accountable to clean up the worst contamination. While a welcomed first step, we need to make sure that the EPA hits the deadlines and goes even further to protect our water. There is legislation to jump-start protection of our drinking water from PFAS, NOW.
The PFAS Action Act would jump-start regulations to finally address the public health threat of PFAS. The Water Affordability, Transparency, Equity and Reliability (WATER) Act would provide a long-term, sustainable source of funding for safe and clean water, and would help water systems and households remove PFAS from drinking water.
Urge your senators to pass the PFAS Action Act and the WATER Act.
