John Fetterman: Stand up for environmental justice in your community

Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman has broken promises to stand up to the fracking industry, and left his Mon Valley hometown-- and other communities around the state-- to fend for themselves against the powerful drilling industry.

In his 2016 Senate campaign, Fetterman supported a statewide ban on fracking. But since then, he’s changed his tune; he calls Pennsylvania “the Saudi Arabia of natural gas,” and repeats inaccurate industry talking points about jobs.

In his 2018 campaign for Lieutenant Governor, Fetterman said he supported community leaders calling for Governor Tom Wolf to stop the dangerous Mariner East pipeline. Since he won office, he has supported Wolf’s pro-pipeline positions at every turn.

Fetterman now supports fracking in his hometown, even while opposition from the local community piles up. The public opposition to this environmentally unjust fracking well has forced state regulators to suspend review of the project.

Sign the petition calling for Fetterman to stand up for the health and safety of communities across the state.

Sign the Petition:

Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman, I urge you to fulfill your past promises and defend communities that are fighting dangerous drilling and pipeline projects. Please join residents and community leaders of the Mon Valley in opposing Merion Oil & Gas’s proposal to frack in the middle of the densely-populated community.
