It's been five years since the horrible blowout at the Aliso Canyon SoCalGas storage facility, which remains the worse gas blowout in U.S. history.

Though Governor Newsom has repeatedly expressed support for shuttering this dangerous facility, use of Aliso Canyon has INCREASED by 3000% since his election. Read more about this destructive increase in the L.A. Times.

Every year that this facility remains open is an epic slap in the face to the community members who continue to suffer from this disaster.

Demand that Governor Newsom reverse course on his dangerous Aliso withdrawal protocol and keep his promise to SHUT IT DOWN!

Your Message
Dear Governor Newsom,

I urge you to (1) reverse the withdrawal protocols implemented in 2019 and go back to the "emergency only" withdrawal protocol to use Aliso Canyon as a last resort only, (2) reduce the storage limit at Aliso Canyon and under NO circumstances increase the limit, and (3) shut down Aliso Canyon within ONE YEAR via Executive Order.

Sincerely,
