The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is holding yet another lease sale of public land in New Mexico for oil and gas drilling the week of May 18, 2020.
The proposed plan targets the Permian Basin, a region of southern New Mexico where fracking expansion has made New Mexico the 3rd largest oil and gas producing state in the nation, surpassing Alaska.
In the past, Food & Water Action has collected tens of thousands of signatures to protect New Mexico and the Greater Chaco area from further oil and gas expansion.
Your comments to defend Chaco Canyon have worked to slow down that expansion, but we have to keep up the pressure to protect every parcel of public land!
Fill out the form provided below and tell the BLM to stop drilling up New Mexico's public lands!
IMPORTANT NOTE: The protest period to voice our opposition is March 23, 2020 thru April 1, 2020, and the BLM is more likely to accept messages with additional comments. Please add your name, along with additional comments today!
