Join us in calling on Governor Newsom, State Legislators, and the California Public Utilities Commission to support the closure of the risky SoCalGas storage facility in Playa del Rey!

LA has laid out its roadmap to reaching 100% clean energy. Across Southern California we're seeing communties and government officials stepping up and bringing stakeholders together to find the real solutions we need for a just transition.

The longer we wait to begin that process for facilities like the one at Playa del Rey, the less opportunity we provide for the constituencies at the front of this transition to guide our path forward. Right now, we have an opportunity to bring together unions, community members, and other stakeholders in determining an equitable pathway forward for the closure of this site — but we need the Governor to do his part in making that happen.

Sign below to tell Governor Newsom, local State Legislators, and the California Public Utility Commission we need a real timeline and just transition plan for shutting down the Playa del Rey SoCalGas Storage Facility!

Governor Newsom: Shut Down the Playa del Rey Gas Storage Facility!

Your Message
Dear Governor Newsom, Senator Ben Allen, Assemblymember Autumn Burke and Members of the California Public Utilities Commission,

A just transition requires us to start taking action now. Stand with the residents of Southern California and commit to a timeline for closing the facility at Playa del Rey, as part of a comprehensive just transition for communities across all of California.
