Over one-third of all corn grown in the United States is used to produce ethanol, a gasoline additive. Adding ethanol to gasoline does nothing to help cars run cleaner, and actually hurts the climate and our wallets.

Now, Congress is considering a bill that would create a new program at USDA to support the expansion of dirty biofuel infrastructure — ethanol, switchgrass, and wood biomass. It would seed the program with $500 million in subsidies for ethanol and biodiesel.

It’s time for Congress stop wasting taxpayer dollars on false climate solutions. Urge Congress to vote NO on more subsidies for ethanol production!
